Levels of Health

The following text is based in part on George Vithoulkas’s
Levels of Health and The Science of Homeopathy

First, I want you to think about this:

  • How does your body react to the environment?
  • What type of things get inside your body?
  • Is it easy for you to eliminate what should not be there?
  • Do you have occasional or constant skin problems?

These questions seemingly don’t have much in common to belong on the same list.

Yet, your answers can show the state of your kidneys and liver.

They are important, because we are an open system and we constantly take stuff in and constantly have to eliminate something out just to stay in balance. If elimination is lacking it means that things come in, but don’t get out. Eventually the system will overflow. The overflow is represented as symptoms of various diseases.

Depending of which organ is hit the hardest with lack of elimination, we can call them urinary problems or gastro-intestinal (GI) problems or skin problems or lung problems or joint problems. Or, if it has been going on for a long time, the system that has seemingly no function in elimination is being affected - the nervous system. Then we call it irritability, poor sleep, lack of focus, lack of concentration, loss of memory, brain fog and so on.

The truth is that there is a hierarchy of elimination that is constantly in play in our bodies. In order to eliminate well, the kidneys and liver have to work well. If they don’t, the overflow goes into GI system and we experience problems with abdominal discomfort that can be associated with stool frequency and urgency problems. At this level elimination still can be fixed if instead of addressing GI symptoms we address the key organs that started this unrest – the kidney and the liver. Unfortunately, it is rarely done this way.

Usually the targeted GI treatment “eliminates” specific GI problems and after a while the mucus membranes and the skin show the signs of irritation – canker sores in the mouth, stopped up nose, genital itching, dryness – all can stem from the very same lack of adequate elimination at the kidney and liver level. But if you complain about stuffy nose, will you be given a means to support your kidney and liver? Probably not.

Because in all honesty, the specialist you go to see about your stuffy nose, will not think about you as a closed system that is being backed up, “clogged” due to malfunctioning of elimination. It is just not how conventional Western medical thinking is done. Now what happens if you have successfully “cured” your stuffy nose? Where will the accumulated toxins go now?

Take your pick. Imagine the company is coming and your trash bin is overflowing. You will shove the unwanted items every which way just to keep up appearances.

So will your body. Having all channels of elimination closed, it has no choice but start involving in elimination far away structures like joints, lungs, smooth muscles walls of the hollow organs (i.e. stomach and bladder).

At each of these structures accumulation of toxins will produce symptoms that will look like legitimate diseases, usually ending with “- itis”: gastritis (stomach inflammation), cystitis (bladder inflammation), arthritis (joints inflammation). And what a relief that is – we have tons of anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics to get rid of these pesky inflammations! But will they help the body eliminate toxins?

Not at all. They will just send them elsewhere causing deeper and deeper body structures to be involved in function of elimination that will prevent them from fulfilling their primary roles. By the time the nervous system get involved the specialty of the medical practitioners one gets to see is so far from thinking about kidney and liver drainage that the primary cause will again not be addressed.

-          -  Now what about legitimate diseases in people who never had any elimination problems?

-          -  Let’s see… Please tell me about their family health history.

The family health determines:

·       what diseases the person may be susceptible to

·       what is the maximum level of health that is possible to achieve

·       how hard one must work to achieve the maximum level of health

 General description of the levels of health:

“Each organism functions on a certain level of health. At present we do not know exactly how many different levels there are. However, to be able to apply this theory in daily practice, for the time being we will consider twelve levels of health categorized into four groups.”

The second volume of “The Science of Homeopathy” Levels of Health – practical applications and cases by George Vithoulkas & Erik Woensel

So the group A is comprised of Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3;

Group B is Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6;

Group C is Level 7, Level 8 and Level 9;

Group D is Level 10, Level 11 and Level 12.

Level 1 is the highest level of health with highest life expectancy and Level 12 is the lowest level of health with least adaptable defense mechanism, most serious health problems and lowest life expectancy. To determine which level you are on, think back to your family history and the age of your parents, grandparents and siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles.

If you have in your family majority of relatives who were actively present, able to have productive activities and be generally independent till the age of 75-90 without any serious health problems, congratulations – you are in Group A and your current health problems most likely can be fixed with you taking good care of your health and watching your elimination and consumption practices. Homeopathic remedies can help you achieve your health goals faster. Your children can take vaccines usually with minimal consequences.

If majority of your relatives lived till the age of 60-70, you are in Group B. You need to work harder to maintain good health. There will be stumbling blocks to overcome. Homeopathic remedies needed in your case will be changed several times to respond to your evolving ability to bring balance into your internal world. Vaccines may affect your children on the deeper level. Best to delay vaccination. Best to start homeopathic care prior to vaccination.

If majority of your relatives lived till the age of 40-55, or if they lost capacity to actively participate in life and make active decisions at this age, you are in group C. You can count on limited improvement with a lot of work no matter what health modality you chose and often you may want to combine them for maximum effect. In fact, consider advice of the Red Queen from Lewis Carrol’s Through the Looking Glass. It will take a lot of work just to keep you on your current level. Be prepared to work twice as hard on any improvements. Pre-conception work is highly desirable. If already have children, consider taking them to homeopath as well. Children born into this group have tendency to react strongly to vaccination.

People in Group D usually don’t live past the age of 30 and are unlikely to have any children. Homeopathy may increase the odds of longer survival in conjunction with other alternative modalities and conventional therapies.
